Federation Internationale de Peche Sportive Mouche (FIPS Mouche)

FIPS Mouche (Federation Internationale de Peche Sportive Mouche, the International Federation of Sport Fly Fishing) is the official sanctioning body for World Fly Fishing Championship events. FIPS Mouche was founded on April 23, 1989 in the Republic of San Marino. Every year in a member country, an event is organized and participated by the member countries, which includes the United States of America.

In 1997 America and Fly Fishing Team USA hosted this prestigious event in the town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This memorable championship introduced many of the world's finest flyfisherman to the wonderful fishing opportunities available in this part of our country.

FIPS Mouche aims to encourage the practice of sport fly fishing throughout the world. FIPS Mouche also aims, within the Olympic ideal, to foster friendship and understanding among all people, and peace in the world, through sport. In pursuing these goals FIPS Mouche maintains friendly relationships with all other world organizations sharing this ideal and collaborate with them.
