Mike Sexton - Competitor, 2008 World Fly Fishing Championships

Mike Sexton grew up in California and moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 1992 with his wife Carol and 2 girls Lindsay and Sarah. Pagosa Springs is one of the most beautiful areas in Colorado and they are so fortunate to call it home.

Soon after moving to Colorado, Mike started guiding and has guided all over Southwest Colorado and Northern New Mexico. Mike has developed many different fly patterns for this region and his flies can be found in many of the local shops. For the past 3 years Mike works for an incredible ranch which has 6 miles of the West Fork of the San Juan River right on it. Mike is in charge of the fishing department at the ranch and along with being a Certified Arborist; he fills in with tree work when not fishing with guests. Mike also owns and operates his own fly fishing guide service called Cutthroat Anglers, which he has had for the past 8 years or so.

Other interests Mike has is that he played baseball most of his childhood all the way through college and still plays softball with one of the local teams. He is a very competitive person and felt right at home competing at the Fly Fishing Team USA Trials in Salt Lake City and the National Championships in Boulder. He is very excited and proud to be a member of Fly Fishing Team USA.
